A morning of shared stories, good food and finding people who understand.
Navigating endometriosis, or trying to get answers about your symptoms, can feel lonely, especially when you're juggling school, friendships and everything else that comes with being a teenager. For parents and carers, knowing how best to support a young person through that experience can bring its own questions.
The Australian Endometriosis Foundation and Endo Under 18 invite you to a community brunch created especially for young people under 18 with diagnosed or suspected endometriosis, and their parents or carers.
It's an opportunity to meet other families, hear stories and build connections with people who understand what you're navigating.
Over brunch, you'll hear from Georgia Barber, founder of Endo Under 18, and Milli Weaver, Founder and CEO of the Australian Endometriosis Foundation, as they share their personal experiences of endometriosis and the journeys behind their advocacy.
A moderated Q&A will offer the chance to ask questions about their experiences, followed by plenty of time for conversation and getting to know others in the room.
Your morning includes:
Brunch, tea, coffee and cold drinks
Personal stories from Georgia and Milli
A moderated Q&A focused on lived experience
Time for young people to meet peers, and for parents and carers to connect with other families
You don't need a confirmed diagnosis to attend, and there's no expectation to share your story. You're welcome to come along, listen and take part in whatever way feels comfortable.
You only need to purchase one ticket per young person + parent/carer pair.
This event shares lived experience and does not provide individual medical advice.
